On 8 June 2023, the new Plose gondola lift starts operating. The 78 panorama cabins for 10 people each take guests in 10 minutes from the valley station at 1,067m to Kreuztal, at 2,050m above sea level. The route runs largely parallel to the old line and passes a mid-station, which is scheduled to open in winter.
The garaging of the cabins will also take place there. The number of pillars has been reduced from 22 to 21, while the transport capacity has increased from 1,800 to 2,400 people per hour. For the approximately 800,000 guests who visit the skiing and hiking area every year, the ride is more comfortable and, above all, more user-friendly for families with prams and people with disabilities.
The ropeway builder Leitner has also realised two world firsts with the new Plose gondola lift: an automated transport system for mountaincarts and a transport technology for bicycles adapted to gondola lifts.
In the construction of the 26-million-euro-project, which is located around the old line, special attention was paid to careful overall planning, and maximum protection of the existing protected zones. Worldwide unique is the fully automated loading and unloading of ‘mountaincarts’ at the bottom and top station of the new ropeway.

For the first time in winter operation, the new Plose cable car will take you to the ski area from Saturday, 2 December. The winter season starts on 02 December 2023 and ends on Easter Monday, 01 April 2024.
